Frequently asked questions
Does the channel manager take a commission on my bookings?
No. Reservit takes no commission on the bookings processed by the software. Platform commissions are still owed to each platform under your own contracts.
Is the channel manager included in the subscription?
Yes. It is part of the Reservit software, with no third-party tool to plug in. More than 50 integrations are included in the subscription with no usage fees: the number of bookings that go through them never changes your bill. Some connections to third-party partners carry fees charged by the partner, announced before activation. See Pricing.
Which channels is the channel manager connected to?
More than 300 partners are available: booking platforms (OTAs), metasearch sites, vacation rentals, wholesalers, GDS and travel agencies. Booking.com, Expedia, Airbnb, Vrbo, Hostelworld, Agoda and Hotels.com are among them. The full list is on the Partners page.
Is the update instant on every channel?
No, not strictly speaking. Your changes go out as soon as they are saved, but each distributor receives and applies them on its side, at its own pace.
What data is exchanged with distributors?
Rates, availability and stay rules go out to the channels; bookings come back into Reservit. Depending on the channel, photos, descriptions and amenities can be distributed too.
Can I send different offers to different channels?
Yes. For each distributor, you decide which units are published, which rate applies, the stay rules and the closed periods. A promotion created in the offers manager is sent to the connected channels you choose, offer by offer; it can also stay on your website only.
Can I keep my best rate on my own website?
Yes. An automatic markup applies on the channels you choose, which leaves the best rate on your website and your booking engine, with no software commission.
Does this remove the risk of overbooking?
No, no tool removes it entirely. The channel manager reduces it sharply: as soon as a booking is received, the unit sold is removed from the other channels.
Do platform bookings show up in my calendar?
Yes. A booking made on a platform appears in the Reservit PMS calendar, and availability is updated on your other channels. The other way around, a change made in the calendar goes out to the channel manager as soon as it is saved. See reservation management.
Does the channel manager work with my property management system (PMS)?
Yes. Reservit PMS is connected to it natively: availability and rates go out from the calendar, and bookings come back into it. With another PMS, the connection depends on the integrations in place, published on the Partners page. If you use a third-party channel manager (as chain-affiliated properties do), the connection goes through our APIs and is reviewed with the team before you commit.
Can my rates appear on Google and metasearch sites?
Yes. Your rates and availability go out to Google and metasearch sites, with a link that brings the traveller back to your booking engine: the metasearch site does not take the booking, it sends the traveller to you. The direct connection to Google is included with Reservit: your rates appear on Google and the “Book” button on your Google Business Profile opens your booking engine, with no fees and no cost per booking. To go further, Google Hotel Ads advertising is available as an option: it is paid by commission, per booking or per click, within the budget you set. Other metasearch sites (Trivago, Tripadvisor, KAYAK…) are available as an add-on module. See Metasearch listings.
Do the booking engine and the platforms share the same inventory?
Yes. The booking engine and the channel manager draw from the same inventory: travellers see real availability, on your website and on the connected platforms alike.
Can I see what each channel brings in?
Yes. Sales by channel are gathered in one place, so you can compare what each distributor brings in. Platform bookings are counted in statistics and reports as long as they come in through the channel manager; a booking entered outside the software does not appear in any report.
Can I close a date from my phone?
Yes. With the Reservit Manager mobile app, on iOS and Android, close a date or release a unit: the update goes out to your channels.
Who connects my channels?
The Montreal team. Channel connections are set up by the team, not by you, and the team then helps you fine-tune your channels. More than 1,000 properties in Quebec already work with Reservit.

It is designed for hotels, motels, campgrounds, chalets and cabins, B&Bs, inns, hostels and outfitters.

What flows between them Both ways
- To the channels: rates, availability, stay rules and the promotions you choose; depending on the channel, photos, descriptions and amenities.
- To Reservit: bookings, which land in the Reservit PMS calendar.
- Every booking received removes the unit sold from the other channels.
- Changes go out as soon as they are saved; each distributor applies them at its own pace.
Control by channel You choose what goes out, where, and at what price
- Selection by channel: units and rates published with each distributor.
- Marked-up rates: a markup per channel protects your margin and leaves the best rate on your website.
- Stop sells: close a channel for a period or below an availability threshold.
- Offers by channel: each promotion from the offers manager goes to the channels you choose, or stays on your website.
Overbooking What the tool does, and what it does not promise
The channel manager sharply reduces the risk of overbooking: as soon as a booking is received, the unit sold is removed from the other channels. No tool removes the risk entirely, because each distributor applies the update on its side, at its own pace.
