With Reservit, booking takes three steps

Search, choose, pay. Prices are clear as soon as the traveller chooses, on desktop or on a phone.

    Step 1 · Search

The price of every night, right in the calendar

Dates, guests, real availability: the traveller sees right away what the stay will cost.

  2. Reservit engine offer list: the best-price suggestion highlighted, with the total price for two nights

    Step 2 · Choose

The best offer, front and centre

Rates and terms side by side, with no surprises at checkout.

  3. Reservit engine cart: total before taxes, lodging tax, GST, QST and total including taxes before completing the booking

    Step 3 · Pay

The total, taxes included, before paying

Lodging tax and your province’s taxes itemized. Secure payment, deposit or card hold, following the rule you set.

Frequently asked questions

Does Reservit take a commission on bookings?

No. The software takes no commission on bookings made through your engine. You pay a subscription, not a share of your revenue. The booking engine is included in the Reservit subscription.

How does the commission calculator work?

It uses only the figures you enter: average nightly rate × units × 365 nights × occupancy rate gives your yearly revenue, then the share booked through platforms and their average commission give the commissions paid. The amount saved assumes 10 points of bookings shifted to direct. The math runs in your browser; nothing is sent anywhere. It is an estimate, neither a quote nor a promise of results.

Do I need to rebuild my website?

No. The engine fits into the site you already have, whatever it was built with: WordPress, Wix, Squarespace or a custom build. For a custom site, open APIs give access to rates, availability and bookings. Only your branding is carried over, so the switch is seamless for the traveller. No website yet? The Reservit Website builder (add-on module) sets one up for you, booking engine included.

Can I ask for a deposit or a card hold?

Yes. Rules are set by rate type, by period or by channel, and payments run through 3-D Secure 2.

Are taxes calculated automatically across Canada?

Yes. Once your provincial tax setup is in place (GST with QST, HST or PST), the taxes and any applicable lodging tax apply automatically to every booking, shown at the right step.

Which languages and currencies does the engine support?

The engine is available in nine languages. Several currencies can be offered, so guests from abroad see an amount they understand.

Can guests cancel their booking themselves?

Yes, within the limits you set. Your booking and cancellation terms, written by you, are accepted with every booking.

Can I sell packages, extras or upgrades?

Yes. Packages, bundled stays and upgrades sell at the moment of booking. Extras such as activities or rentals are added with the Extras and services add-on module, and appear right after the guest picks a unit.

Can a promotion be kept for my own website?

Yes. With the Offers manager, a promotion can exist only in your booking engine, or appear only with a code. Member rates and seasonal terms are set the same way.

Is availability kept in sync with the platforms?

Yes. The engine and the Channel manager draw on the same inventory: travellers see real availability, on your website and on every connected platform.

Does the engine work with Google?

Yes. The direct connection to Google is included with Reservit: your rates appear on Google and the “Book” button on your Google Business Profile opens your booking engine, with no fees and no cost per booking. This button is included by default: it does not depend on the Local listings management module (add-on module), which only publishes your property’s information across listings. To go further, Google Hotel Ads advertising is available as an option: it is paid by commission, per booking or per click, within the budget you set. Other metasearch sites (Trivago, Tripadvisor, KAYAK…) are available as an add-on module: see Metasearch listings.

I run several properties: can the engine link them?

Yes. When one property is fully booked, the engine checks the other properties in the group and shows what is still available. See Multi-property.

Is my data protected, and my guests’ data too?

Yes. Reservit complies with Law 25 in Quebec and PIPEDA elsewhere in Canada, from booking to invoice.

Which properties use the Reservit booking engine?

Hotels, motels, campgrounds, inns, B&Bs, chalets and cabins, and outfitters. Reservit, founded in 1999, is used by more than 35,000 properties, including more than 1,000 in Quebec.

Do you help with going live?

Yes. Rates, terms and content are set up with you by the Montreal team, based on a quote tailored to the scope of your property.
